The YouMeWe Earth School is part of the NPO's effort to reach people where they are. Orphanages around the world provide housing to the children of our future, and it's our job to create opportunities for them and to connect them to the internet. Teaching skills they will need to take into the 22nd-century start here. "Instituto Beneficente Viva a Vida" has been around for 28 years and has supported orphans and women who suffered domestic abuse around Suzano city, on the east side of Sao Paulo.
Challenge
When children have no family network, the priorities around their education over the basics of everyday living get left behind. We endeavor to use our curriculum to teach the children and staff about being good Digital Citizens. Quando as criancas sao criadas sem uma estrutura familiar, suas prioridades educacionais sao deixadas de lado para suprir as necessidades basicas. Estamos usando todos os nossos esforcos para conseguir mudar essa situacao e criar oportunidades na vida dessas criancas
Long-Term Impact
Brazil is situated in the same time zone as the US and through YouTube, many Brazilians are learning English. The potential to own and work for calling centers within the same time zone is the beginning to be part of the greater global economy. O Brasil esta situado no mesmo fuso que os EUA, e atraves do YouTube, muitos Brasileiros estao aprendendo ingles. O potencial de trabalhar para call-centers para os EUA, e apenas o comeco para criar empregos em um pais com uma grande taxa de desemprego.
