From 46 Fellows impacting 1250 Students in 2012, today, Teach For India Hyderabad has 82 Fellows serving 3250 Students across 33 Govt. and low-budget private schools. We've made headway in regional educational reform with over 200+ Alumni working in various roles to push the needle in the education system, from entrepreneurial innovation to policy reform. Our focus rests squarely on building proof points of excellent schools, supporting social entrepreneurs, and infusing talent into the System.

Challenge

India's systemic education crisis affects 30% of the world's poorest children. 76% of Indian students fail to enter Grade 10; less than 5% of our low-income youth are enrolled in college. These children fight cyclic challenges - from debilitating poverty and discrimination to a lack of skilled, empathic educators. Further, the extended and varied effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have intensified educational inequity and halted progress, leading to learning losses for nearly all students.

Long-Term Impact

In the long run, Teach For India will build a powerful and ever-growing leadership force of alumni who, informed by their experiences and insights, will work from inside and outside the educational system to effect the fundamental, long-term changes necessary to ultimately realize educational opportunity for all. Teach For India plays an active role in ensuring that the Alumni of the program are excellent ambassadors who have the mindsets and skills to create exponential and collective impact.
