Humane Society of Dallas County/Dog & Kitty City is a no-kill animal shelter, established in 1978. Our goal is to place healthy, rehabilitated animals into loving, responsible, forever homes. We vaccinate, spay/neuter and ensure proper vet care is provided to every abandoned animal we rescue to help decrease animal over-population. All animals in our care have a loving home for life at our sanctuary should they not get adopted. We rely solely on private donations and community support.
Challenge
Pet overpopulation and abandonment is a growing problem across north Texas cities. In addition, large numbers of dogs and cats entering area shelters, unfortunately, get euthanized. We are seeking your support to enable our shelter to continue to provide a safe, loving no-kill shelter environment for area homeless companion animals, as well as, awareness and education to our community.
Long-Term Impact
The impact of our services enabled us to complete 450 adoptions throughout 2013. Our goal is to positively impact the local community until no-kill becomes the norm. With your help we are making a difference in community education, proper animal care, finding great families for companion animals and providing a safe caring environment for those still awaiting their forever homes.
