PeaceTrees Vietnam addresses the harmful legacies of the Vietnam War by clearing the land of explosives, building schools and libraries for local communities, and providing opportunities for sustainable agricultural development. Our programs include community and education centers, gardens, libraries, and kindergartens, which provide early education and food security for more than 3,500 children each year. This work would not be possible without your support.
Challenge
Communities still impacted by the legacy of war face poverty, food insecurity, and insufficient access to education. These risks are intensified by the threat of mines and bombs left over from wartime. More than 45 years later, our teams continue to find 60-100 items of explosive ordnance each week. Our work to safely clear land, and provide food and education is an essential service to these communities as they work to continue healthy and prosperous lives.
Long-Term Impact
Providing stable, quality access to food and education to the children in Quang Tri and Quang Binh Province is crucial to supporting healthy futures for children and families in central Vietnam. Our projects aim to secure the health and positive development of children as they enter early childhood and primary schooling, ensuring that future generations are able to cultivate brighter futures.
