Women in Africa drop out of education early and the two main reasons is to take up running the home or due to lack of sanitary wear. Either way the number of unskilled women across Africa is alarming and we need to help women take control and get back into work. This project allows women to train for free and get skills that will result in them getting local employment or setting up their own micro-business to sell to the tourist trade. Who doesn't love an Africa bag?

Challenge

The rate of unemployment among women according to the SA Government is currently at 48,7%. Since COVID it is thought this is actually much higher. With very limited opportunities for women to get back into education at a later stage of life there is less hope for them fighting the poverty cycle by accessing employment so result to begging on the streets.

Long-Term Impact

This project is creating employment and local business women that are able to access the tourist market to make a profit. With your help we will up-skill enough people in the community to create many jobs that will fight unemployment and help fix the gender gap across South Africa.
