Provide Palestinian female entrepreneurs from marginalized communities with training in the business and personal skills required to launch and sustain a commercial business. Through increased self-confidence and financial independence, women will empower themselves and their families to break the cycle of poverty, advancing the position of women in their communities.
Challenge
Women in Palestine have made progress gaining more equal access to education, but have not yet gained equal access to work outside the home. Many women possess education, motivation and basic skills, but lack the support, tools and training (that's easily accessible to men) to make their equal participation in the workforce possible.
Long-Term Impact
Over the life of the project, 60 women - 20 business leaders and approximately 40 craftswomen and working women with talent, economic need, and the qualifications necessary to staff the businesses - will be engaged directly and 500 family members will be reached indirectly.
