Our society and especially marginalized communities require leaders and role models. One way to address this gap is to create them using sport- train them at the highest levels by providing with the tools, knowledge and confidence to succeed and demonstrate how sport can change lives and contribute to community development. The Academy ensures that children from lesser privileged backgrounds stay away from negative influence, spread good values and become change agents within their communities.
Challenge
Access to safe spaces and structured play programs are hard to find. Ideals such as disciplined, rigorous training and competition provide pathways to hard work, team work and leadership in communities where there is despondency about a lack of opportunities and the feeling of no way out of misery/current environment. Giving children an opportunity through structured sport which provides and an avenue towards excellence can provide hope and optimism to millions of children.
Long-Term Impact
Academy graduates, footballers equipped as leaders with an understanding of social responsibility will motivate and transform the next generation of youngsters who see football as their natural career path. As these players start to make a living through football and represent Pakistan internationally (evidence already available), it will give hope and pull in many millions who will be incentivized to embrace sport, a healthy lifestyle and hard work helping us transform the fabric of society.
