Musicians for the World provides free virtual music education to vulnerable communities worldwide. Throughout our journey, we have first handedly witnessed the struggles faced by our global partners. Many of the students we engage with lack the basic tools they need to learn and even struggle to find basic necessities such as food and clean water. To make our impact even greater, we ask that you donate to this fundraiser which will contribute to students' needs beyond just classes/lessons.
Challenge
MFW is currently engaged with music programs in Haiti, Kenya, Bolivia, Peru, Mexico, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, and Belize. Through these partnerships, we have witnessed the harsh conditions faced by many of these programs. Many of them lack the basic necessities needed to operate, and now these programs are faced with additional challenges due to the pandemic. Lack of funds for rent, internet, electricity, electronic devices (essential for pandemic learning), etc. are all current issues.
Long-Term Impact
One of our main goals is to help these programs become economically and musically self-sufficient. In order to provide the freedom needed to flourish and thrive, we must alleviate some common burdens faced. In these communities, music is more than a hobby - not only can it provide economic opportunity, but it is also a safe space away from delinquency and life's daily struggles.
