We are initiating this project so that we can provide the girls & women with skill development program and vocational training, who are from rural parts of Nepal with weak financial background especially the earthquake victims who are vulnerable to human traffickers, to help them earn a living in their own villages and support their family. We will also be going to support the girls who had to quit their schooling because of the financial problem, by providing them scholarships to be educated.

Challenge

After the post-earthquake period, people who have been living in the rural areas of Nepal had financial crisis. Especially women & girls were the most vulnerable ones in those area as they were in the risk of being trafficked to other countries and probably be forced to become sex slaves because for source of income they would be easily be trapped in the sweet words of the traffickers. And since they don`t know any skill to earn income they would be hopeless and fall prey to human traffickers.

Long-Term Impact

After the completion of their 9 month project, the girl & women who have received the training will go to their respective villages to start a small business of their own with the help of JHF to earn income and support their family for happy life and reduce the incident of going abroad and reduce the instance of human trafficking which is our ultimate goal. Those who will receive medical courses will also be going in their villages so that they will be contributing towards the community health.
