Partnering with women's community groups, together we're growing seedlings for kitchen gardens to fight malnutrition for 1,500+ mothers and their 7,500+ children. 100% DIRECT GIVING: 100% OF YOUR DONATIONS HELP WOMEN GROW HEALTHY GARDENS FOR THEIR CHILDREN.
Challenge
Climate change, COVID, and conflict have caused deep suffering for the women in our partner communities in rural Kenya. Rainfall has been insufficient for 3 years now, causing one of the worst droughts in 40 years. People rely upon the rain to grow food for their families and to grow some cash crops to sell for money. The women in our partner communities grow 2 staple crops, and cannot afford other seeds to grow nutrient dense fruits and vegetables which will improve their children's health.
Long-Term Impact
'Hidden Hunger', or micronutrient deficiencies are particularly high in sub-Saharan Africa. The success of the EACF community gardens will make it easy for families to consume essential micronutrients thereby improving children's capacity to learn, grow and develop into productive members of their communities.
