MEDRIX is proud to have installed water filter systems in schools in rural Vietnam to provide safe drinking water for the children and their teachers. When we visit these schools, the only complaint we hear is, "it takes too long to filter the water for our 200 children". Now we have a solution to that problem, the larger LifeStraw Community model filter system. Will you donate to help us buy, install and evaluate 3 of these larger systems?

Challenge

MEDRIX is tackling the problem of providing safe drinking water to schools with 200 students. The solution MEDRIX is using is adequate, except it does not have enough capacity to supply enough safe drinking water daily for 200 students in each school. A second problem is the amount of labor required to constantly monitor and manually add water to the system to be filtered.

Long-Term Impact

With larger capacity filter systems, enough safe drinking water will be available every day for all 200 students at the school. In addition, the larger system can be connected to a piped water source where the incoming water flow is regulated by a float and valve - no more filling the inflow container by hand. IMPACT - water for all and less manual work allowing teachers for more time with students - WIN/WIN.
