Save Vietnam's Wildlife rehabilitates between 300 and 500 pangolins and other rescued wild animals from Vietnam's illegal trade at two rescue centres. After a period of care, around 60% of them are fully recovered and released into protected habitat. Animals that can't be released due to lack of natural instinct or missing part of the body, are provided a permanent home in large, natural enclosures customised to their needs.
Challenge
All wild animals that we rescued have health problems and need specialised medical care: dehydration, force-feeding, stress, or injuries. Some suffer permanent physical or psychological injuries and require expensive, lifelong care. With an old Ultrasound machine, every time an animal needs a health check at the other rescue center, we must travel 4 hours to bring the machine there. All of this could lead to further complex issues such as late diagnosing, lowering the effectiveness of treatment.
Long-Term Impact
Our rescue and rehab program aims to increase the survival and release rates for rescued animals through proper veterinary and daily care. Animals thrive in large enclosures set within trees and they are fed with natural diets, provided best health care treatment, and are deeply loved by our dedicated staff. With your support, we can help save up to 500 pangolins and wild animals from illegal trade, help them fully recover under the utmost care and release them back to the wild.
