HDO will provide blankets, mosquito nets and solar lamps to 500 flood affected families in order to enable them to live comfortably. HDO often overlook these basic items but with very poor families possessing blankets, mosquito nets and solar lamps is often a luxury and not given priority. With blankets, they will not sleep cold at night, with mosquito nets, they prevent mosquito-borne diseases and with solar lamps, they can do productive work early evenings.
Challenge
The torrent floods wreaked havoc on more than hundred thousands families of fives tehsils of District D.I.Khan. Thousands of people lost their livelihood, and shelter as flash floods washed away their houses, crops, and physical infrastructures. According to stats from the district government, flood-affected households of Tehsil Paharpur are intense need of food, clean drinking water, temporary shelters, and health protection measures.
Long-Term Impact
Out-Come: Protected dignity, health, and privacy of vulnerable groups in flood-affected areas by limiting exposure to further protection risks. Out-Puts/ Results: Most vulnerable are identified and protected. Most vulnerable used NFIs to protect themselves from health hazards. Reducing the impact of the floods.
