Millions of people have been affected and are highly vulnerable by severe flooding in Southern and northern part of Pakistan. Recent heavy rains in Sindh,KPK and Punjab have killed thousands of people due to urban flooding and have swept away livestock, properties and valuables of worth billion of Rupees. Donations will provide immediate relief to survivors in form of supplies(food, shelter, water, and medicine) in addition to long-term recovery assistance to help residents recover and rebuild.
Challenge
Hundreds of people, including women and children, died after they were swept away in a flash flood caused by monsoon rains in Karachi and high level river flood in North , Southern and Western part of Pakistan in almost all major provinces of Pakistan. Hundreds were reported to be missing in Southern Punjab and Balochistan.According to the State Disaster Management Authority, the flood had taken away thousand acres of agricultural land, livestock and also have destroyed food in all over Pakista.
Long-Term Impact
AWARD Pakistan will provide long-term support to survivors and communities of natural disasters like these floods. AWARD will prepare people to respond to the emergency more effectively through Disaster Risk Reduction Training. Donors will reported about the funds utilized through reports and pictures . Local Volunteer force will be prepared to help people in need.
