Our school is pioneering Self Directed Education in Ireland. We create a learning environment in which children can choose what they want to learn, and are free to do so in their own way and at their own pace within a stable moral community. We provide a learning space where children's natural talents can flourish by giving them control, choice, and personal responsibility; radically improving the experience of education for all.

Challenge

Millions of people globally grow up to believe that they are flawed because of their experiences in an out of date school system which suppresses creativity and promotes only one kind of intelligence. Countless experts have called for a radical rethink of our school systems to cultivate creativity, acknowledge multiple types of intelligence and stop the inhumane focus on standardisation. The traditional school system was designed during the Industrial age and is long overdue a system reboot.

Long-Term Impact

This model can radically improve the educational experience for all children everywhere. Our ethos of Self-Directed Democratic Education is a powerful, scalable and sustainable model which promises a future generation of emotionally resilient and self-actualised citizens who will have the capacity to find creative solutions to our future challenges. We will be a centre of learning to inspire and train other educators to influence mainstream policy and practices nationally and internationally.
