Sports Aid Africa (SAA) is a Kenyan Non-Governmental Organisation dedicated to serving the forcibly displaced persons residing in refugee camps and broader community. Kenya is a host to about 600,000 refugees, most of whom are children and youth. Sports Aid Africa helps the youth in refugee camps and the host community cultivate their character and contribute to the world through sports programs. We nurture the gifts of youth and impart values that serve them and the world.
Challenge
With the political instability in Kenya's neighbouring countries, an influx of refugees in Kakuma and Dadaab has been causing a myriad of all manner of troubles among the youths in the camps. These misfortunes range from crime, prostitution, drug abuse, rape cases, defilements, early pregnancy and in extreme cases, infant disposal where some survive and a good number die in very deplorable environments. Sports Aid Africa is therefore geared towards rehabilitating these group through sports.
Long-Term Impact
Sports Aid Africa will help the youth in these refugee camps and the host community to cultivate their character and contribute to the world through sports programs. We hope to nurture the gifts of these Children and youth to impart values that serve them and the world. Through our programs we hope lives will be saved, education will be achieved, good parenthood will be inculcated, and create safe environment for everyone.
