Clean water is the basis of LIFE. Yet, those living in Hopiland have only TOXIC water to drink, cook, bathe, garden, and maintain livestock with! Their water is over TWICE the EPA limit for ARSENIC and other chemicals. This project will provide filters and safe drinking water for families in three Hopi Villages impacting 20,000 people for one year. Please HELP! No one should have to die because they are thirsty!

Challenge

Due to abandoned mines from past operations in the Navajo Aquifer, the water is now contaminated with dangerously high levels of Arsenic, Vanadium and Uranium. Using this water for drinking, cooking, bathing, and farming is causing major health issues and even death for Hopi and Navajo peoples. Driving to buy bottled water is a 4 hour round trip, and many do not have the resources to make these continuous trips, so are defaulting to using tainted water for drinking, cooking, and washing.

Long-Term Impact

By supplying clean water, the health and quality of life of these communities improve immediately. With the availability of clean water, there is a lower risk of cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, radiation poisoning, cardiovascular disease and now Covid-19. All people deserve access to clean, life-giving water and the #NOARSENIC4HOPI can provide it to the Hopi and Navajo Nation people. We need YOUR Help!
