Raise education centre is an education institution that enrols children residing from poor and disadvantaged children in Mombasa slums. As a result of change of the national academic curriculum, the school intends to purchase new text books ,desks, and other learning materials to 300 children. In addition, provide lunch under its feeding program which provides nutritious meals to facilitate cognitive academic alertness and concentration.

Challenge

Lack & inability to buy new curriculum textbooks & school furniture occasioned by the growing population due to school feeding program. Most children at the centre come from poor & illiterate families. To match the growing population we need more desks, text books to meet the needs of these children. Since the curriculum is new, there are no second hand text books which most of our children usually depend on. The books need to be binded & kept well in the shelves.

Long-Term Impact

This will improve performance & retain many in school. The little fees charged will enable us to replace the worn out books & buy more for the growing numbers. This will make the centre self reliant in many areas.
