GOOD TO BE GOOD, a grassroots nonprofit organization offers an Empowerment Care Program (ECP) to diverse women, girls, and gender-diverse folks with intersecting identities who are experiencing gender-based violence, structural poverty, and facing forms of marginalization who need urgent relief and care. ECP supports include nutritious food boxes, direct cash transfers, gift cards, menstrual and personal aid, a note of positive affirmation, community-based resources, and low-barrier referrals.

Challenge

Gender inequity & gender discrimination are substantial threats to lasting peace and development, costing societies tremendously. Women & girls from marginalized communities are at heightened risks of gender-based violence, economic instability, and deepened poverty levels, as these long-standing inequities unevenly affect them. For many women, security and safety aren't accessible options, and they face numerous barriers that block their pathway to justice. Gender empowerment is needed NOW!

Long-Term Impact

Our program aims to increase access to care services that empower women & gender+ people to build thriving lives with trauma-informed, enhancing relief and care and centring their experiences in communities. No woman should be set back because their fundamental rights and needs aren't supported. We see profound value in investing in women to access their human rights: the right to safety & justice and enabling their capacity to exercise power and transformation. A lasting, positive investment!
