The local communities and SELF RELIANCE PROMOTERS (SeReP) have identified a serious need following the collapse of the lone water scheme, Kumbo Water Authority, due to crisis. This project serves entire villages, supports health centers, primary schools, and secondary schools to fight against water-related diseases which come as a result of the absence of treated water. It will reduce the distance of fetching clean water, improve health and living standards for 6000+ inhabitants around Kumbo.

Challenge

Kumbo is now endangered by water-related diseases because of a lack of pipe born water. The target villages have about 6000 inhabitants, 3 Primary schools, two secondary schools, two health centers, and three churches. All these institutions beside the entire populations are really in a big problem of lack of portable drinking water. We have constructed three catchments that connected water to the quarters and now we need to finish two catchments and build eight storage Tanks.

Long-Term Impact

This project will sustainably provide clean water and fight against all water-related diseases around Kumbo. It will also allow the villagers to train members of the community on water management skills. The committee members will also have the advantage of working as a team. Children and elders will no longer fight with animals to carry water from dirty and unprotected spring sources, especially during the dry seasons. The Project will improve health and living standards
