This project will drill a borehole to provide clean water for a rural primary school in Nnewi, Anambra State. Inyaba Community Primary School, is one of the schools in Nnewi without any source of water supply. The pupils treks to a hilly stream in the village, to fetch water and two persons have died in the process. This project will also help to improve the health of these children, as drinking clean water will protect them from waterborne diseases such as typhoid fever, cholera, dysentery etc.


Challenge

Inyaba Community Primary School in Umuezeokalum Umudim Nnewi, Anambra State, is one of the schools in Nnewi without any source of water supply, talk more of a safe and clean water. The pupils of this school have to trek to a hilly stream in the village, to fetch unsafe water for drinking and other purposes. Two pupils have lost their lives in the process of fetching water, as one was knocked down on the road by a car while the other one fell through the hill.

Long-Term Impact

The pupils of this school will have enough water supply for all their activities at their disposal, without having to be trekking to a hilly stream in order to fetch water. This project will also help to improve the health of these children, as they will have a safe water to drink and also use for other purposes, which will protect them from waterborne diseases.
