No such institution in Pakistan is working to improve youth's mental health and helping them to lead a prosperous life. The youth needs counselling on mental health, suicidal prevention, marriage , exploring faith, after-marriage counselling, maintaining relationships, harassment etc. more than ever, as the number of suicides among the youth have increased significantly during the last 5 years. AWARD wishes to setup training and counselling sessions with the youth to improve their abilities.
Challenge
Between 15 to 35 people end their lives in Pakistan every day. That's as high as one person every hour. The WHO estimated that in 2016, the estimate was 2.9 per 100,000 i.e. over 5,500 ended their lives. The stories tell us how, all kinds of ills ,rape ,betrayal ,bullying and drug use exist in the society. They also tell us how the lack of education (not only literacy), of an organized health system and of law and justice put so many young Pakistanis at risk and affecting their mental health.
Long-Term Impact
1) Positive sharing will be promoted that will help reduce the suicides among youth. 2) Youth health and well being improved. 3) Youth become united against depression and drugs.
