This project will not only change the nutritional status from the primary military base but will be presented to the President to make changes in the entire country of Honduras.

Challenge

High in the mountains of Honduras, a military base is located. 287 men and 3 women serve there. There are many problems with the base as the government can not afford to provide for their needs. Their greatest need is protein. They only consume a average of 9 grams of protein daily. A 150# man needs 60 gms to build muscle. We have started a double blind study providing the subjects with 62 grams of protein daily and did physical testing before starting. Follow up will show results.

Long-Term Impact

A healthier military to defend the people when required and aid the people in humanitarian aid projects. They also assist by bringing supplies during crisis and disaster relief.
