The project attends to chioldren from the poor communities of Babahohyo, Ecuador by providing: (a) special education and medical care to 41 children with physical and mental disabilities; and (b) provide after-school tutorial and skills training workshop to 33 children from dysfunctiional families with drug problems, are sexually and physically abuse (c) provide the parents' children coounselling, know-how to cope with the disabilities. and assist in legal aid.
Challenge
The project needs additional aid to sustain the cost of operating the center where the children with disabilities and special needs are provided the services.
Long-Term Impact
1. Ability to handle the children's physical and psycho-social handicap 2. Put the children on track towards a more normal lifestyle. 3. Give family life less tension and more harmony.
