Over the past year, with your support, 150 underprivileged children in Rafah, Gaza, have been receiving after school Art, Science, and English lessons during COVID in a safe and caring environment. Dedicated and hard-working teachers took it upon themselves to bring smiles to children's faces after the May 2021 bombings. In addition, two distinguished artists brought joy to deaf children in Jabaliya Refugee Camp through a wonderful art instruction program. Help keep this going!

Challenge

The challenges of lockdowns, the collapse of Gaza's economy, and the heavy psychological toll on children after the May 2021 bombings children are falling behind in their schooling and need extra help. Due to widespread poverty, parents cannot afford after school programs. Good English tutors are especially hard to find. This project promotes fun learning and gently supports children to help heal the psychological toll. Help extend this model program to more children & more Gaza neighborhoods.

Long-Term Impact

Starting small and starting where it counts can certainly make a difference. Following this approach, we are supporting a learning model which is safe, inclusive, fun, and engaging, that ensures children in Gaza grow up to be engaged members of society despite the challenges in their lives. It is our hope, with time, that this learning model extends to include more teachers and students throughout the area.
