The Freedom Theatre, a theatre that defined the meaning of cultural resistance, needs your help in order to embark on its tour of Carthage Theatre Festival and Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre with a brand entirely new productions; Keffiyeh / Made in China and the contemporary dance show; +970. The Freedom Theatre has been described as one of the world's most revolutionary artistic platforms. We believe it is now time to connect Arab and Palestinian artists and facilitate t

Challenge

The Freedom Theatre operates in Jenin Refugee Camp, an area severely affected by decades of Israeli oppression and internal conflicts and largely isolated from the rest of occupied Palestine as well as from the world. In the current socio-political context, artistic production in Palestine is very limited and the right to artistic freedom is constantly violated. The Freedom Theatre plays a crucial role in enabling young people to use art as a tool for individual and social change.

Long-Term Impact

It is important to raise awareness of the independent and revolutionary work of the Theatre and to establish its presence in the big Arab festivals, thus enabling communication and exchange of ideas between artists and audiences. The project will build bridges of cultural understanding and innovative artistic collaborations, which are vital in a pluralistic and inclusive society. We believe that TFT plays, created exclusively for this tours, will inspire and enrich the cultural production.
