Hogar Bambi's provides shelter, protection and comprehensive care to 120 children ages 0-18 who have been orphaned, abandoned or otherwise deprived of family nurturing. It seeks to increase the children's self-esteem, physical and intellectual development, while simultaneously working either to reunite them with their families or find adoptive parents. The organization's activities focus on providing shelter, food, education, health care and emotional support.

Challenge

Economic, political and social instability in Venezuela is at an all time high, and poverty levels and the number of vulnerable children are increasing. Disadvantaged children suffer from malnutrition, poor living conditions and lack of access to quality care.

Long-Term Impact

The project will provide 120 children and youth with health, education, and nutrition as well as legal protection, allowing them to improve their quality of life in the short-term and have the skills and abilities to prosper as adults. This has implications for breaking the cycle of poverty, social exclusion and family disintegration in a particularly vulnerable and disadvantage sub-set of the Venezuelan population.
