in-tech-gration is a project that aims to make learning how to code accessible to everyone esp. refugees, immigrants, and individuals with little-to-no access to higher education.

Challenge

The economic landscape in Greece is not accommodating to the locals, let alone foreigners, and especially refugees. Given the very limited provision of public services in assisting with integration, there is a lack of opportunities for displaced people in Athens to find employment, which means they are unable to support themselves and their families. Our students rely on the classes that we provide in order to gain employable skills to help them become contributing members of the economy.

Long-Term Impact

This program is perfect for displaced individuals who tend to not stay in one location for long, due to a lack of stable housing, income, or resources. Preparing our students with the skills, both technical and soft, to find employment, is of benefit not just to the students themselves, but the ripple effect of their success will improve the lives of many others around them, starting with a direct impact on their close family and extending to the broader community as well, in the long-term.
