In Cozumel, Mexico, Waves of Grace and SoulGives Company are partnering to help the children to sing, play and learn again. Through tutoring, mentors, and workshops at the planned community center, we will help hundreds of children, especially those who live nearby and whose parents earn less than a dollar an hour. This program will keep kids in school help build a future for themselves.
Challenge
Even though Cozumel is a tourist center, the children of the Mexican tourism workers do not have a place to safely play, study, or just hang out with friends. Consequently, they live on the streets and become exposed to bad environments.
Long-Term Impact
Education is everything. The local Cozumel community struggles with preparing students for jobs other than entry level positions. The kids are capable to do more and deserve better opportunities. If we are successful, all families and the community will benefit.
