Hurricane Ida caused widespread destruction across Southeast Louisiana. Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana will be providing food, water, and critical supplies for the weeks and months to come. Second Harvest Food Bank is the largest food bank in Louisiana, serving the Louisiana gulf coast, and disaster response is a core part of our mission.

Challenge

Hurricane Ida is one of the strongest hurricanes to have ever impacted Louisiana's coast. After making landfall on August 29, Hurricane Ida caused widespread destruction across Southeast Louisiana, including wind damage, flooding, and power and water outages.

Long-Term Impact

The recovery from this devastating storm will take many months. As one of Louisiana's most trusted disaster response organizations, Second Harvest Food Bank is there to deliver immediate relief but also to support communities and their needs throughout the long-term recovery.
