Russia has invaded Ukraine. This is the biggest war attack since the Second World War. There is huge panic in Ukraine. The Pallottine fathers, especially in Kyiv, Odesa, Zhytomyr, and Lviv shelter families. Food, water, hygiene products are needed, but not only. The emergency need for the people to survive are power generators and oil-powered equipment. As more and more buildings are destroyed, the families need a place to live. We adapt rooms for them in the parishes run by missionary priests.
Challenge
There is a real disaster in Ukraine because of the Russian invasion. There is no chance for a normal life so the people are escaping from the eastern parts of Ukraine. During bomb attacks they are cut from electric power and water. Thousands of people in Mariupol, Dnipro, Charkiv and other places lost their houses in the war. Pallottine fathers adapt every space in their parishes to create flats for the families of refugees. There is more and more families that look for a place to live.
Long-Term Impact
Thanks to your help, every day many lives are saved and people in Ukraine will gain hope and stability. The Ukrainians deeply touched by the war do not die of hunger, dehydration and will not be stuffed under the rubble. This is the sign that the world support Ukraine, that we do not forget about the suffering people, that we struggle with them to end the war and regain peace and freedom. The Ukrainians who lost their houses in the war will live in normal conditions and human dignity.
