Refugee Rescue are working to prevent loss of life at sea. After being forced to suspend operations for 9 months, Mo Chara, our rescue boat, will operate once again as part of the Sea Eye 4, in the Central Mediterranean route, to prevent any more lives being needlessly lost in the Mediterranean sea. However, In order to continue to provide lifesaving search and rescue services, we need your help. We are relying on donations to cover running costs of the boat to the amount of 35,000.
Challenge
In 2021 alone, at least 300 people have drowned or gone missing in the Central Mediterranean route, the world's deadliest border. As long as there is no option of safe and legal passage to Europe, people will continue to risk their lives. The presence of civil and humanitarian rescue assets are vital due to the systematic omission of assistance by European authorities.
Long-Term Impact
In this new chapter in the Central Mediterranean, our mission continues to be the same: preventing loss of life at sea.
