The trafficking of babies and the violation of the right to identity are long-standing problems in Argentina. NPP provides DNA tests to mothers who were separated from their children at birth. In this way these women have concrete possibilities to search for and find them. Your donation will bring hope and real chance to find their children.

Challenge

Tens of thousands of Argentine women were separated from their children at birth, due to baby trafficking networks, family coercion, and other causes. Now these mothers are looking for their children, but they have no documentation or clues that would allow them to carry out a traditional investigation. Their only option is to compare their DNA with that of other people searching for their parents, but the cost of DNA testing is prohibitive for the vast majority of the country's population.

Long-Term Impact

This project will carry out DNA tests on 350 women and will allow their DNA to be permanently compared with the DNA of people who are looking for their parents and who will be included in the database in the future. The growth of the genetic data banks will allow an increasing number of encounters. These encounters change people's lives and create an huge social impact in terms of family search possibilities.
