Airlink is coordinating with our global network of nonprofit relief partners and airline and logistics partners to respond to the deadly Afghanistan Earthquake. Immediate needs include: medical aid, WASH supplies, search and rescue teams, food aid, and shelter. Airlink's mission is to remove the high costs & logistical challenges of transporting emergency humanitarian aid to more efficiently reach people in need. Your donation provides sustainable funding to secure/fund airlift & logistics.

Challenge

The Afghanistan earthquake killed more than 1,000 people and injured at least 1,500. The number of causalities is expected to rise as search and rescue operations are ongoing. This earthquake is compounded by the severe hunger and economic crises Afghanistan is facing right now under Taliban rule. Getting critical aid to the communities that need it requires understanding security concerns, the impact of political embargoes, and logistics and operational challenges in the region.

Long-Term Impact

This earthquake is compounded by the severe hunger & economic crises Afghanistan is experiencing under Taliban rule. According to a UN report in May, more than half of the population is food insecure; and a 'massive' measles outbreak is straining an already weak health system. Airlink supports NGO partners across the spectrum of critical aid needed including strengthening health systems, ensuring access to clean water, and providing nutrition for those facing food insecurity.
