Afghans struggle for survival within their economy in part because they lack skills that employers want. Help 200 Afghan students learn computer and coding skills to fill the technical void and improve their lives and increase job opportunities.

Challenge

Afghanistan, one of the world's least developed countries, has limited technology and people skilled in modern information technology. It is vital for Afghans, especially women, to have information and communication technology skills so there is a foundation for successful competition in the global market. AIL offers computer classes to about 600 students per month through its labs in Kabul and Herat, Afghanistan.

Long-Term Impact

Computer training gives students a competitive edge both in school and university study and most importantly while seeking employment. Most students skilled in computing are hired immediately upon completing an AIL course while others choose to go to college.
