With COVID-19 spreading across the world, underprivileged communities face increased financial instability and health risks. The closure of schools all over the island, together with unemployment, means families now have more mouths to feed and less disposable income. More children from low-income backgrounds will need our assistance in the near future, as vulnerable families will send their children to government schools to ensure 3 meals a day and a safe place to sleep. WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Challenge
In 2019, Thailand's English proficiency ranking among non-native English speaking countries dropped to 74th out of 100 countries. Moreover, children from low income families are often swallowed into the cycle of poverty and child labour due to limited access to resources. As a result, ignorance about the many life and job opportunities existing remains across the community. The only way to change this is to make English education available to all Thai youth as this will broaden their horizons.
Long-Term Impact
This project will break through language limitations and give our students the ability to work, progress, and thrive in both local and international industries. With the ability to speak a global language and the possibility to develop their skills, they can benefit from evolving business trends, especially in Thailand's tourism industry. Our students will have access to careers and experiences unobtainable without the skills developed through our programme.
