GLOW Leadership Academy 2022 will empower 85 teenage Bulgarian girls by giving them the social skills needed to think beyond the traditional limitations which our man dominated society still has.

Challenge

The main social issue GLOW Leadership Academy addresses is the social integration and acceptance of women to be key figures in Bulgarian society. The current barrier to this problem is the insufficient standard of teaching in our schools that does not reflect the real needs of our generation, which is why we took it upon ourselves to teach our participants about some key social topics that are overlooked in teaching, such as: leadership, discrimination, self-esteem and combating intolerance.

Long-Term Impact

GLOW Leadership Academy is a silver medalist from the Stevie Awards for Women in Business, category Women Helping Women. Knowledge is passed through the generations of the Academy by the participants becoming trainers for future events. All participants are encouraged to also spread it in their communities empowering more girls through training and social events. Through the COVID-19 lockdown in Bulgaria, the GLOW alumni provided moral support to teenage girls online to prevent depression.
