This project will feed and support poor hungry widows in Anambra State. The death of a husband is a tragedy that befalls a woman as it involves a physical break in their relationship, which is very stressful and devastating. The widowhood condition exposes women to psychological and physical abuse, as well as a whole range of health-related problems including HIV/AIDS. Your donations will support these women to have a source of livelihood and take good care of themselves and their children.
Challenge
The period after the death of one's husband is supposed to be a time when the widows should be assisted, to withstand the emotional and psychological trauma, pain and frustration associated with the loss of their husbands. But unfortunately in Nigeria, the reverse is the case, as widows are being maltreated. They face a lot of challenges especially disinheritance, leading to stress, depression, loss of self-esteem, poverty, making them unable to take good care of themselves and their children.
Long-Term Impact
These widows will be financially stable to take proper care of themselves and their children, without having to feel the impact of the loss of their husbands so much.
