Last year CAIA helped 400+ vulnerable people of all ages born in 26 different countries through advice and practical support about their rights as refugees/migrants, as isolated older/disabled people, women/children subsisting on low incomes, poor accommodation or threatened with homelessness. CAIA enables them to address the inequalities they experience such as cultural exclusion, language and digital barriers to progress from surviving, coping, to adapting and thriving in society.

Challenge

Armenians are a scattered population, who have often lost contact with family and friends who have settled in different countries such as UK to rebuild their lives. Given the level and multiple needs of their vulnerability when fleeing war, persecution and economic upheaval they experience insecurity, fear, confusion and uncertainty in a new country. CAIA helps secure their rights and find solutions to their day-to-day problems such as housing, work, education and the right to stay in UK.

Long-Term Impact

The core belief of CAIA is the inalienable right of all people to have the means to improve the quality of their life and the core values is the empowerment of users to help themselves to affect change in their lives through the provision of accurate information and impartial advice. Our service will enable 400 vulnerable men, women and children overcome poverty, inequality, social exclusion, develop personally and become more independent.
