The new Alumni Program will create a support network for graduates to continue to sharpen their skills, gain access to job opportunities, and grow in their professional lives through leadership development, financial management, and character development. The Alumni Program provides crucial support for Haitian men and women building a career that can lead them out of the inter-generational cycle of poverty.

Challenge

Prior to gaining skills through an Extollo training, most of our students earn less than $3.00 a day when they were able to find work as day laborers. With a certificate from Extollo, our alumni make 2-3 times more a day on average than they did prior to our training. Yet when surveyed, our alumni express significant difficulty in finding work due to very limited access to job opportunities and professional networking.

Long-Term Impact

We plan to achieve the following outcomes for those alumni who choose to engage in the Alumni Program: (1) at least 50% gaining consistent employment, (2) at least 70% actively involved in giving back to their community and growing in character, (3) at least 90% feeling more hopeful about their future and making more positive choices in their lives.
