Joy Foundation has been working in the rural areas of Punjab, Pakistan since 2009 in education, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Environment sector. So far, the deadly novel corona virus outbreak has infected thousands of people and spread to over 199 countries (including Pakistan) since its emergence. Especially children are most affected with it because it's difficult for because they did not understand much about it. So this Virus attach on children and elder people more quickly.
Challenge
For the majority of people in Punjab province, the immediate risk of being exposed to the virus is now too high. As of March 29, 2020, the total confirmed cases are 1542, out of which 570 are in Punjab province. Punjab government has announced 14 days lockdown to reduce gathering of people at public places and has declared health emergency in the province. But because of that its really difficult for the daily wages people to survive in this situation. So Joy Foundation is trying to work and sup
Long-Term Impact
1) The precautions will help the communities to resist against the spread of virus. 2) The packs will help people to prevent their families from the spread of virus in the rural areas. 3) Communities would be having knowledge about the nearest equipped health facility in case of emergency. 3) The food drive will be helping poor families of daily wagers, Bonded labour etc who will be mostly affected by the lock-down
