Our project fights against the educational and digital gap of 200 children who attend the Day Centers that we have in Spain. These are children who, due to the pandemic, have worsened their economic and social situation, and who do not have possibility of accessing support resources to improve their academic performance, which aggravates their situation of educational exclusion. We help them through: 1. School reinforcement 2. Delivery of tablets 3. Internet connection 4. Digital training
Challenge
In Spain 1 in 3 children (2.46 million) was at risk of poverty or social exclusion before the health emergency. The COVID-19 crisis has changed the global social and economic landscape, hitting our country hard. We are in the middle of a deep economic crisis that negatively affects many families, throwing us back to 2008 or even worse. Since last year, we are detecting a significant increase in families in our programs as the impact of the coronavirus on employment is being devastating.
Long-Term Impact
We hope that the children complete their studies satisfactorily according to the standards established by the educational centers and that they promote to the following year. We work so that children acquire digital skills using technological equipment in an appropriate and autonomous way. Also that families improve their involvement in the educational process and strengthen their positive parental capacity to care for their children.
