This project is a uniquely designed program that prepares slum children, for formal education by taking the school to them. This project will provide 1000 children who are living on the edge, marginalized, and deprived of basic education, health facilities, and with no financial security with education and comprehensive support services.

Challenge

Access to education and learning is nonexistent in any slum. There are estimated to be more than 18 million street children in India. Poor parents don't have enough resources to send their children to schools and they end up doing domestic chores or get into rag-picking and other anti-social activities. ESCT needs to raise $42000 in the next 3 years. This project will allow children from these marginalized communities in Goa, to stay off the streets and thrive in mainstream school environments.

Long-Term Impact

Education is a dream for millions of children who struggle to survive daily. This project brings the school home and will provide 1000 first-generation learners with an excellent education, which will put them on the path toward breaking the pervasive cycles of poverty in their slum communities.
