In Ednica we keep working to provide better conditions for children in vulnerable situations. We have three community centers in where we provide to the children educational, medical and psychological support in order to help them to build a project to live better and know their rights. The last past year and half all the education change and our children are having online classes, we really need you support for cover the expenses of the internet service.

Challenge

The children and teens who work on the street tend to have an unstable, conflictive, precarious and even violent family environment, but being part of this family keep them integrated into a family and even community environment. On the contrary, children and teens who already live on the street, refer to this space as their home, the place where they sleep, where goods are accumulated (some clothes, few identity documents, cardboard, etc.) and they create belonging and roots.

Long-Term Impact

Throughout these years, Ednica had help the lives of more than 10,000 children, teens and families who live or work in public space in Mexico City; increasing their school career beyond basic education and help them access to job opportunities not determined by the street; expanding knowledge about sexual and reproductive rights and STDs; reducing the consumption of psychoactive substances; developing respectful parenting skills; improving eating, health, hygiene and self-care habits.
