Mosaik Support Center is a place that aims to provide a sustainable solution and to give refugees the tools they need to integrate into the local society and in Europe. Mosaik is a place of meeting, exchanging ideas and evolving, open to all. A variety of courses, an open library, cultural and environmental awareness events, all take place in a beautiful building that embodies solidarity and multiculturalism. English, Arabic, Greek and IT courses are currently offered to everyone for free.

Challenge

Inhumane living conditions in refugee camps, endless bureaucratic procedures, non-existent solutions for accessing educational facilities and the feeling of abandonment are what more than 1,300 refugees face when they arrive on the island of Lesvos. Mosaik Support Center has always made as much space as necessary to welcome people and offer them support, such as educational programs, employability courses, life assistance, bureaucratic support and a number of other interactive events.

Long-Term Impact

Refugees arriving on the island are supported by a community that guides them through the various stages of resettlement, from mental support to network building to independence as they navigate the Greek social and economic system.
