This project will support our hostel facility at our partner school, Modern Model Residential School in Kalikot district, one of the most remote districts in Western Nepal to provide education, housing and boarding to 20 girls and boys who are orphans or in extreme need of support. Our school and the hostel facility provide quality education and a homely environment for the orphans and children in need from remote villages in a rural village setting in western Nepal.
Challenge
Thousands of children especially girls in Kalikot district and surrounding districts in Western Nepal lack access to quality education because of poverty. Around 75% of girls are married before they reach 19. Many children specially girls are more neglected by parents as they leave parental homes after marriage. Thus, many girls in the region are devoid of quality education and future opportunities in life.
Long-Term Impact
In the long run, the supported children will be educated and provided with skills that will make them successful in life. Furthermore, they will be expected to be role models and agents of change in their communities.
