Help our teachers as they engage our 400+ students in this new school year - whether it be in-person classes or distance learning. Children growing up in Vietnamese orphanages face isolation. The past 6+ months of the covid19 pandemic has heightened this isolationism as many orphanages have locked their gates, limiting contact with Kidspire staff. These teachers aren't just providing a S.T.E.A.M. focused learning program. They offer much needed: Encouragement. Motivation. Confidence. Hope.
Challenge
We are facing 2 challenges: 1) We currently have a 15% budget short-fall as we have seen a reduction in funding over the past 6 months. 2) As the new academic year begins in 7 orphanages a few orphanages are allowing teachers inside for in-person classes and others are limiting access to only distance learning. But we are committed to connecting with each student and ensuring the continuity of their learning. For most of these children, the Kidspire teachers represent their only support system.
Long-Term Impact
This project totally changes the career outlook for our students, helping them to gain modern job skills, while giving them opportunities for internships in great local companies in Vietnam, as well as multinational corporations with a Vietnamese presence, and opportunities to earn jobs. We also believe that improved distance learning equipment will provide additional learning opportunities, including access to guest speakers, remote interviews, and opportunities for global connections.
