Modern Model Residential School currently provides education and boarding facilities to 32 orphans and children in Western Nepal. Furthermore, 125 other children attend school during day time. Because of geographical difficulty, the school currently uses basic traditional furniture. With the new road being constructed in the region, we want to purchase improved furniture for the children and conduct teacher training activities to improve the quality of education for the children in need.

Challenge

Many schools in remote villages in rural Nepal lack basic resources such as furniture and teaching materials. The village where our partner school, Modern Model Residential School is located is so remote that until recently there was no motorable road at all. Thus, the school had to have locally made traditional furniture using local wood, and also it was hard for the trainers to reach the school to provide teacher training sessions.

Long-Term Impact

The project will create a quality classroom and learning experience for children in need at our school in rural Nepal. The project will help our school to deliver a quality educational experience and help our school's mission to provide quality education to children in remote villages in Western Nepal. Children will be more excited to come to school and will show improvement in their academics and social activities.
