Remar Mexico Seeks to guarantee protection, food safety, hygiene and education to 70 Mexican girls rescued from situations of mistreatment and sexual abuse, so that they can develop their life plan and skills for work.


Challenge

The World Health Organization (WHO), it is estimated that 1 billion children are victims of mistreatment, abuse and neglect of care. Mexico ranks first in child sexual abuse with 5.4 million cases per year, states the Mexican government. Only in the metropolitan area of the state of Jalisco, around 450 cases were reported in the last year. Children rescued from violence are sheltered in family homes, as it is not feasible to return them to their families due to lack of guarantees of their righ

Long-Term Impact

Remar Mexico supports 70 girls and 5 babies (of girls who by circumstance are mothers). It provides them with a safe environment, provides them with support for the care and education of their babies, provides them with psychological guidance and access to support networks, provides them with psychosocial support, provides them with medical attention and care when they require it, encourages girls to continue their studies. and guides them to the development of social skills for life.
