This project aims to build 10 new classrooms in the IDP camps of Afrin region in NorthWest Syria, provide salaries for 10 teachers in the classrooms for 3 months, and cover the operational fees (Stationery items, books, chairs, etc.) of these classrooms for a year.
Challenge
According to OCHA, 1.8 Million school-aged children live in NorthWest Syria. 44% of them are out of school. This is a massive issue as those kids drop out of school at a young age, making them vulnerable to abuse and forced labor. The fact that one third of Syria's schools are either damaged or destroyed doesn't help either.
Long-Term Impact
Not only will this project save dozens of kids from the horrible consequences of leaving school at a young age, but it will also allow them to be future engineers and doctors who will advance with their community functionally and financially, which will help the people repair the damages from 11 years of war.
